Holidays on Lake Garda and the project of the cycle path around the lake, the first stretch is open now!
Finally they opened the very first stretch of the long-awaited bike path that is part of the largest cycle ring project around Lake Garda, which we have already discussed in some previous article. Saturday, July 14th they inaugurated this first section about 2 km long in the municipality of Limone and it was a real success.
This cycle-pedestrian trail is truly extraordinary, a phenomenal engineering work, suspended 50 meters above the lake's surface and perpendicular to the mountain, really beautiful. The total investment amounts to about 7,640,000 euros, of which a small part is used to secure the rock face and the largest part for the cycle path itself, whose elements have been brought all by air so as not to block the State road to traffic.
Near the beginning of the cycle path there is a multi-level car park and an e-bike rental point. So for all those who will spend their holidays on Lake Garda without bringing their own bike, they can easily rent one or walk on foot. The track is open day and night, it is also accessible to dogs on a leash and the speed limit is 10 km / h.
